WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play

As announced earlier this month, the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play will not return in the future as it marks the end of an era. There will be no more WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play started in 1999 and has crowned many champions. Your champion for the last WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play is Sam Burns.

WGC Dell Technologies Match Play 2023 started on 22 March. The event saw a field of 64 golfers competing for the championship win. On Saturday, Round of 16 and quarter-finals were played. Sunday morning started with the semifinals and later in the evening, there was the championship match and consolation match for the third place.

To say that the best of the performers marched on to the semifinals would not be wrong. All 4 of them didn’t lose any matches in this year’s WGC Dell Technologies Match Play.

Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Sam Burns, and Cameron Young were the semi-finalists. Defending champion Scheffler took on Burns while McIlroy and Young locked horns in the second semifinal.

Over the years, WGC Dell Technologies Match Play has brought the best out of top golfers playing for the prestigious trophy. This year we saw many upsets with Rahm, Spieth, Morikawa, and Fowler leaving the field early. However, the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play 2023 was no less than a top-tier nail-biting competition.
